Brian Anton, President-Elect
Forsyth High School
Brian Anton is an experienced high school social studies teacher who currently teaches government, dual-credit U.S. history, contemporary issues, and economics. He earned his B.S. from College of the Ozarks in History and Secondary Education, his M.A. in History from Missouri State University, and is currently pursuing his Ed. S. degree in Administration through Lindenwood University.
Outside of the classroom, Brian stays busy as a high school assistant baseball coach, adjunct teacher education instructor, Ward I Alderman at the City of Forsyth, Missouri, editorial board member (the sole K-12 educator) for Teaching History: A Journal of Methods, and President-Elect for the Missouri Council for the Social Studies.
Brian enjoys the perks of being a teacher and spends his summers coaching baseball and traveling with his family in their camper. They spent July 2018 exploring the South Dakota Badlands and Black Hills, Yellowstone, and the Colorado Rockies. Currently, they are planning to spend July 2019 in Montana and the Canadian Rockies.
